Pressure Valves & Safety Relief Valves

Pressure reducing valves, also known as, PRV’s – Pressure regulating valves – High pressure valves. There are also Safety valves, Temperature relief valves or TP valves and we will maintain, repair or replace all of the above.

Rusty's Handy Pressure Valve tip
Your pressure valve should drip approx 1% of your geyser capacity in a day. It should drip only during it's heating cycles so therefor if you ran a tap for several minutes the elctrics to the geyser would kick in and start heating - the hot water in the geyser expands, this expanded water is forced into the overflow pipe and allowed to drain away from the geyser. If your pressure valve is running constantly its time to have it checked.
